Where luxury meets tranquility

Being an oversized Shepherd’s Hut or as someone described it….” a Shepherd’s Hut on steroids”…. this property definitely puts the GLAM in Glamping! The Liddel Dutch Barn comes equipped with a king size bed, a deep Victorian cast iron bath, and a large sports Infrared sauna – perfect for soothing tired legs after a long hike or bike ride.

Designed for two people, this luxury accommodation would be perfect for both walkers who’ll benefit from Scotland’s free-to-roam policy, and cyclists. This accommodation can be booked on its own or together with the Liddel Haven for larger parties.

The local area

The Liddel Dutch Barn is just 10 miles from Kielder village, home to Kielder Castle with its tea room, country pub and restaurant which offers a variety of meals and drinks. The Liddel Dutch Barn enjoys even less light pollution than Kielder, and the observatory where you can enjoy the awe-inspiring dark skies experience is only a 10 minute drive away.

5 minutes further on takes you to Kielder Waterside Park where a variety of watersports and outdoor activities can be enjoyed. Facilities include a gym, swimming pool, gift shop and The Boat Inn. 

Heading in the opposite direction from the cottage, the village of Newcastleton is a 10 minute drive away, with it’s 2 supermarkets, 2 restaurants / coffee shops, 3 pubs, a post office and bank. The bustling borders town of Hawick is just a 25 minute drive away. 

For those who want to stay nearer to home, the immediate area offers, good walking, cycling and fishing. Tesco, Morrisons and other large supermarkets all deliver to the area.

The Scottish Borders has so much to offer for an unforgettable holiday in a serene and historic location. Whatever you’re looking for The Liddel Dutch Barn is the perfect base for resting, recharging and adventuring.
